Transporters can then view the RV Transport Request information and contact the person with a quote. EhlerRVTransport.com is not a transportation service provider (TSP), freight forwarder or broker. Transporter's USDOT Authority - A transporter must be authorized by the Department of Transportation to transport goods for hire, and should have a USDOT and MC number.You can verify their USDOT and MC number status at the Safer Company Snapshot at http://safersys.org/CompanySnapshot.aspx. The Company Snapshot is a concise electronic record of a company's identification, size, commodity information, and safety record, including the safety rating (if any), a roadside out-of-service inspection summary, and crash information. The Company Snapshot is available via an ad-hoc query (one carrier at a time) free of charge.

Transporter's Insurance - You should check the transporter's liabilty insurance and cargo insurance. You can verify the liability and cargo insurance of a common carrier and the liability insurance of a contract carrier at http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_carrquery.prc_carrlist. All RV transporters are required to carry a minimum amount of commercial insurance, but you may want to purchase additional coverage from a third party.

Transporter's References - Ask for references from previous customers. Any reputable RV Transporter should be able to provide references from previous customers.

Better Business Business Beureau - Look up the transport company on the Better Business Bureau website, http://www.bbb.org, to see if any complaints have been lodged against them.
